Well it seems Asus has given up on Z270 as far as driver updates go. Im curious what I should do about Intel Rapid Storage Technology. My current download from Asus is version 15.9.0.1015 from December 2017, it looks like Intel has released at least 2 versions since then. Im not sure if it would be best to download the newest version 16.7.0.1009 from Intel or if I should remove it all together?

took back the 860 to best buy and got another 850 evo works just fine. Also went to Samsung support and their message boards . Found others who had same ahci deactivated problems due to lack of upgrading their controller drivers for the 860 to work properly.Thanks for your suggestions but let Samsung fix this Richie
